Video - Chaz Bono Finally Speaks About “DWTS” Controversy

Transgendered dancer Chaz Bono finally sounded off this morning in her his first public appearance since it was announced he would appear on “Dancing With The Stars this season”.

Since the announcement, several organizations have come forward denouncing the move saying it will confuse our children and harm our social moral fabric.

While others have even gone as far as to organize online petitions in an attempt to have would be viewers boycott the show.

Some are targeting the advertisers in an attempt to hit the network where it hurts the most – in the wallet.

And to make matters worse, infamous ding-bat lawyer Gloria Allred held a press conference this morning saying she was going to fight for each and every transgendered person who has ever felt discriminated against.

Oh brother…

Well, this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America Chaz finally spoke out about the matter.



Cher – Chaz’s biological mother took to twitter last week in support of her son/daughter saying,

“I support him no matter what he wants to do. The vast majority of viewers will be happy to see Chaz on DWTS”

Since his transition, Chaz has written a book and announced he is engaged to be married to a woman he has been with for almost two years.

For his part, Chaz thinks that this DWTS issue is a much bigger deal to everybody else than it is to him saying he is glad he accepted the job at “Dancing With The Stars” and America needs this kind of wake up call.

Maybe.

It took too long for our country to finally accept gays and even today there is not total acceptance – most bullying is done under a shroud of somebody being gay – or somebody THINKING someone is gay.

The decision by Chaz to appear on television as a man just might be what we need to show first-hand that people are people, have real lives and emotions, and real problems and afflictions – even if we don’t know them personally.

It kind of reeks of bias and sensationalism that people would make such a big deal out of this.

Riddle me this:

If nobody in the world knew who Chaz Bono was, and had never met him, seen him, or ever heard of him and he appeared on the show – nobody would care.

The only reason people care is because they know he is different now.

And it’s that being different that will get you every time.

Just ask anybody who has ever been bullied.

Our Advice:

If you think this is bad for the country and going to harm your children and cause you emotional distress, then don’t watch the show and move on – but don’t drag the rest of us into your personal insecurities.

Go get ‘em Chaz, we wish you the best of luck on the show and a great life as your new self.

Video - Corey Feldman Says Pedophilia Rampant in Hollywood - Admits He Was Abused as a Child Actor

Actor Corey Feldman gave some disturbing statements to ABC’s Nightline earlier this week about his life as a child actor and the pitfalls he encountered.

Feldman says pedophilia is the number one problem in Hollywood today, and was the number one problem when he was a child actor.

Feldman, who rose to fame with fellow actor Corey Haim, told Nightline that he himself was abused as a child.

He also believes that his friend Corey Haims death was partly due to abuse received as a child at the hands of a big Hollywood mogul.

"I was surrounded by pedophiles when I was 14 years old. I didn’t even know it. It wasn't until I was old enough to realize what they were and what they wanted … till I went, Oh my God. They were everywhere."

While not naming any names, some have speculated that the time spent with Michael Jackson may have had some influence over Feldman and Haim when they were young.

Earlier this year, Corey told reporters that Jackson had given him wine and offered him cocaine during a sleepover while visiting the Neverland Ranch. The story was quickly denied but none the less – it was out there.

Feldman starting doing TV commercials when he was just three years old, and became a teen idol while starring in made for TV movies and big budget Hollywood films.

On television he appeared in “Eight is Enough”, ‘The Bad News Bears”, “Mork and Mindy”, “The Love Boat”, “Cheers”, “The New Leave it to Beaver”, “One Day at a Time”, and “Family Ties”.

Feldman then hit the big screen with the movies “Gremlins”, “Friday the 13th”, “The Goonies”, “Stand by Me”, “The Lost Boys”, “License to Drive”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, and “Meatballs”

Corey can be seen this October in the horror thriller “Zombex”, a story about a post-Katrina New Orleans as it deals with a new disaster - a zombie apocalypse created by a drug invented by a rouge mad scientist that turns people into zombies.

Corey also has a modest music career and was just featured in Katy Perry’s music video “Last Friday Night”.

Video - Jackie Evancho Appears on ABC’s 20/20 Super Human Segment

Last night, ABC’s 20/20 aired a segment during their Friday night show called “Super Humans Super Powers”.

Usually, super human powers are associated with brute force and amazing physical accomplishments, but the one person we were all waiting to see was 11-year-old crossover singer Jackie Evancho.

Hailed as the girl wonder – the little girl with the big voice, Jackie Evancho spoke about her amazing rise to stardom and her passion for singing.

And yes, you can see her passion – and so can everyone else. In fact, Evancho is already getting Grammy nodes for the 2012 Awards season.

And her popularity with her fans can clearly be seen in her current album sales.

During her 20/20 interview, Jackie talked about her family life and what it feels like to be up on the stage. She talks about her life when not performing and her thoughts on why she can do what she does so well.

Doctors believe her lungs and vocal chords are just like any other 11-year-old, but what makes Evancho different is her brain.

We agree.

Jackie was first discovered on the popular American television show “America’s Got Talent” two years ago, and even though she came in second place the world had seen an early glimpse of what Jackie would become.

Her debut album “Dream with me” is on track for gold and platinum status, and she has already worked with both Susan Boyle and Barbara Streisand on duets.

Her rendition of Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel” has become one of her signature songs and we suspect we have just heard, and seen, the beginning of young Jackie’s potential.

Teaming with Grammy winner David Foster has been a tremendous success for Evancho as he seems to be able to pull out her talent while at the same time remembering she is just a young girl.

All My Children and One Life To Live Cancelled by ABC

An end of an era is upon us.

When I was growing up I would come home from school and “All My Children” would be on the television.

I was not into music yet, but I could recognize that theme song from anywhere in the house.

Today, ABC announced that two of its longest running soap operas, “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” are coming to an end after almost 43 years of production.

“One Life To Live” started in 1968 and addressed many of the country’s social and economic issues, and it quickly became a hit with the “house wives” of the time and gave ABC the incentive to try their hand at another serial.

“All My Children” first aired in 1970. Like “One Life To Live”, “All My Children” focused on many of the country’s current and controversial issues. But instead of focusing on the lifestyles of the rich and famous, the show addressed social issues such as homosexuality, AIDS and abortion.

With almost 11,000 episodes each, the shows were famous for jump-starting the careers of many of Hollywood’s now famous people like;

Laurence Fishburne, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayden Panettiere, Ryan Phillippe, Brandon Routh, Blair Underwood, Tom Berenger, Mischa Barton, Kim Delaney, Josh Duhamel, Jesse McCartney, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lauren Holly, Christian Slater, Michelle Trachtenberg and Amanda Seyfried.

The trend over the last few years has been to move away from scripted daytime drama to a more comfortable daytime talk show format – think “Ellen” and “Oprah”.

The passing of the torch is complete and the daytime industry is now in the hands of our children.

Kids, you better not screw this up.
